Northfield Backyard Wedding / Kiri + Aaron
Kiri and Aaron met years back on Halloween. She was a sassy saloon worker, he a bloody lumberjack. Their paths crossed, and after talking, they made plans to hang out again, despite knowing what one another looked like sans costume. They hail from St. Cloud, but were married in Aaron’s aunt’s backyard in Northfield, Minnesota this past summer.
Aaron’s aunt has one heck of a backyard. Kiri and Aaron helped prepare it for their wedding the year before. They planted, gardened, and cleared out the spaces in the shed. Their efforts were well worth it because their wedding was so true to who they are as a couple down to every last detail.
Kiri and Aaron chose to see each other down the aisle for the first time. Aaron created a customized vinyl album that was played on a record player for the wedding family and wedding party to walk down to.
During the ceremony, Aaron gave Kiri’s daughter a locket to symbolize his love and commitment to them. He dabbled in his sense of humor between words filled with compassion, which brought most of the bridal party to tears.
After their ceremony, they wanted their guests to grab a cold beverage and relax. They set up chairs and lawn games that overlooked the pond on the property.
Dinner included trivia to earn your plate, followed by toasts from many family members. People were able to come and go as they pleased throughout the evening. Before sunset, Kiri and Aaron shared their first dance. Kiri then slipped into a relaxed dress so she could move freely the rest of the night.
Kiri and Aaron- you both are real cool. I would love to hang with you both anytime. Your wedding day was so the two of you- thank you for letting us share in it! Wishing you loads of happiness and many more fun Halloweens together!
