Minneapolis Social Media + Website Photography / Strength Collective

Jenny Halstead started Strength Collective to support personal trainers. Her beautiful gym in St. Paul is a co-working, collaborative space where personal trainers can bring their clients, but also benefit from personalized business coaching to group fitness-related education. Jenny’s dream is to help personal trainers not only make a living, but build a solid brand that will keep them financially stable and personally fulfilled.

Over the course of 6 months, we did 3 brand photography sessions for Strength Collective’s social media accounts and website that featured different pieces of Jenny’s story, but also her brand.

For our first session, we started from the roots of Jenny’s story. She was in the corporate world for years and felt stressed out, exhausted, and bored with her job. Her lifestyle wasn’t centered around health, so she decided to step away from her desk and into the gym, and she shifted her career to personal training.

After years of training clients at gyms, she saw many flaws in the system. The gyms that allowed her to train at fostered competition over community. The financials also didn’t add up, so she was working extremely hard and the gyms were taking a huge cut. She knew there was a better way to make it in the fitness world, so she dreamed up Strength Collective from her home.

To honor this piece of the story and create connections with future trainers, our first session took place in Jenny’s home. She worked from the couch, made her favorite smoothie, and ran with her pup who she loves dearly.

The rest of our sessions took place in Strength Collective. Her space is located in St. Paul and has tall ceilings, natural light, and all the gear a personal trainer could dream of. Because trainers want to see what the gym looks like, we took photos of the space and the equipment so they could get a taste before coming in for a tour.

One of the greatest perks of being a member at Strength Collective is the continuing education. Jenny provides fitness, but also business coaching so her trainers can build a stronger business.
