Kidderbug Kreations Personal Branding Session

In 2018 I started offering personal branding sessions for entrepreneurs and influencers who need a steady stream of images for social media. I put a post out on Facebook offering a few sessions for a discount price so I could build my portfolio and hone in the process. I had a few replies, one being from Anne of Kidderbug Kreations.

Kidderbug Kreations makes handcrafted sewn and embroidered gifts. Anne started the company because she struggled to find meaningful, personalized gifts for her friends and family. She wanted to create beautiful, useful items for people to give their loved ones that would be different from the mass-produced gifts you can buy anywhere. So she learned how to sew, thanks to her grandmother, and got to work.

Her handmade gifts range from light and silly things like comical embroidered toilet paper to one-of-a-kind memorial pieces to commemorate lost loved ones. Anne has a camera and shoots her own products all the time, but wanted to get out from behind her products and show the stories behind how and why she creates what she does (exactly what a personal brand photography session is meant to do).

We started Kidderbug Kreations’ personal branding session by showing Anne sewing. She hand sews all of her gifts, so we told the story of how her products come to be. We showed her measuring fabric, cutting the fabric, sewing on a machine, and hand sewing final details.

Behind the scenes, Anne also packages everything she creates. She calls upon her family at times to help, so she brought them in and they all sat down together to put the final touches on some of her handmade gifts. Her daughter and husband are great helpers, and Kidderbug Kreations is all for a family working together.

Anne has been using these images on Instagram to show the whys and hows behind her business. When she shows her face to her audience, her posts get more likes than when she uses stock photos.
