Apple Valley Family Session / Megan, Angel, Emily, Charlie + Stefan

In 2015, I had the honor of photographing Megan and Angel’s wedding at Crystal Lake Golf Course. The weather was perfect, they are awesome humans, and it was an all-around magical day. Last fall, Megan reached out about doing some family photos at their home. They were now parents of Emily, age 3, and two brand new twin boys, Charlie and Stef. We met on a sunny October day near their home in Apple Valley for their family session.

Megan and Angel met me at the door. In the stroller were Charlie and Stefan, smiling with their big cheeks, and their big sister, Emily. Their home is walking distance from some trails, so we made our way there and passed the bridge. It had rained the day before, so Emily jumped out to splash in puddles in her rain boots.

We found a few festive orange trees to pose under. Megan brought a blanket as well as some pillows to prop up the twin boys. I of course asked Megan and Angel if they had mixed up who’s who. They said there had been a moment or two, but now that they were getting older, they could see their differences in personality.

Emily is a proud big sister and helped the twins sit up tall and smile. She loves being the big sister, but she said the twins need a lot of attention.

After we had photographed all the family combos, everyone hopped back onto the stroller so we could head to Megan and Angel’s backyard.

The twins were too young to swing along, but they loved sitting in Megan and Angel’s laps. Emily showed us how to go down the slide into a pile of leaves and looked so cute doing just that.

So happy for this beautiful family. Megan and Angel are outstanding people. Their kids are so lucky to be raised by them.
