In Home Family Session / St. Paul, Minnesota
Brian and Mary have two beautiful children, Louisa and Beatrice. They bought a new home in St. Paul, Minnesota, and were finally moved in and ready to have some family photos taken. So last November, I went over to their new spot for an in-home family session.
Louisa and Beatrice are beyond adorable. Upon my arrival, Louisa took me down into the basement to give me a tour of their home but also show me her favorite toys. Beatrice was more on the shy side and hung out with mom in the kitchen until we were ready to start the session.
The family loves their new home, especially the living room that has a wonderful fireplace. We started upstairs on the sofa and then made our way to their deck that overlooks a forest. The sunshine made the air feel warm, so Brian and Mary swooped up the kids for a few photos.
They have a few boulders in their front yard, which are perfect for sitting—and climbing, as Louisa mentioned. They piled on for a few more family photos before coming back in to warm up next to the fireplace.
Mary and Brian came to my studio a few weeks later to pick out their favorite images. They ended up choosing to receive the entire gallery and ordered some prints as gifts for the holidays. They also chose a lovely photo to have printed on a gallery wrap to hang in their home to commemorate their first family photo in their new home.
In-home family sessions are a great way to infuse your environment into your photos. Kids are generally more at ease when at home, so it makes it easy and fun for them. More samples of in-home family sessions are below.
