Snowy October Family Session / Reid, Dena + Charlie

In 2018, Reid and Dena welcomed a new face into their family, Charlie Roger. Charlie has big brown eyes and a ginormous grin that always make him look happy. And thankfully so, because the weather did not cooperate in the way we had hoped for his first professional photos. Luckily, we made it work and ventured outside for a few photos during this snowy October family session.

The greatest thing about snow in October is that the trees still have color. Reid and Dena live in a beautiful home in South Minneapolis. By their garage was a wall covered in colorful ivy leaves. We, of course, took full advantage.

It was one of Charlie’s first snows. He hammed it up the entire time, first in his bear suit. Reid and Dena took turns holding him, while Charlie’s favorite uncle stood by me to help Charlie feel more at home.

Charlie did great. The snow was big, flaky, and wet, which is ideal for snow photos.

We eventually ventured into the guest room where Charlie showed off some of his favorite outfits. He also showed me his beloved giraffe and sheep stuffed animals.

Reid is a Packers fan (I’m sorry, everyone) and Dena an avid Vikings fan. Charlie right now is on both sides and often wears multiple jerseys on one Sunday depending on who’s dressing him. They kept him neutral for the photos, but I have a feeling he may sport one or another a few years from now.

I couldn’t be happier for Dena and Reid. I’ve known Reid for years, Dena for a little less, and they are two of the nicest humans around. They are great, proud parents to Charlie Roger, and hopefully, one day will have a few more… or at least that’s what I’m hoping.
