Boom Island Photos for Kayla + Nick’s Engagement
Boom Island photos for Kayla and Nick’s engagement session were so fun! These two have an ability to make each other laugh and enjoy the present.
Kayla and Nick met at our friends’ college graduation party eight years ago in Mankato, Minnesota. Nick thought Mankato was terrible but Kayla was great.
They bought a house together in Mankato, then got a puppy, and now they will be getting married in May of 2021!
Since they have family in the Twin Cities, they wanted to have their engagement session at Boom Island while they were in town.
We met there on a warm fall evening. They brought their sweet pup, Turner, for their photos as well since dogs are always welcome.
Turner put up with us as we traveled around the park to find the beautiful fall leaves and watch the sunset.
When Kayla and Nick tried to do photos without him, he would bark and want to be included. It was adorable.
After the sun went down, we headed to Nicollet Island for a few photos under the 35 W Bridge. Kayla and Nick love night photography, so we continued on to the Stone Arch Bridge for a few more pictures before they made the trek home to Mankato.
As I mentioned above, these two humans are incredibly fun and silly! Their wedding day is coming up quick and based upon our conversations and past interactions, it’s going to be a great time full of surprises.
Stay tuned for more from Kayla and Nick next month!
