Mill Ruins Park Engagement Session / Stephanie + Mike
Stephanie and Mike met online. They originally planned to meet for dinner, but things changed last minute and they ended up meeting on a mid Sunday morning for coffee at Caribou. Their casual coffee date lasted for hours. They lost track of time and Mike ended up being a tad late to work that day. They love the architecture of downtown Minneapolis, so we headed to Mill Ruins Park for their engagement session.
Before we walked down to the park, Stephanie and Mike had a drink at Sea Change. They, like most couples, were a little nervous to get their picture taken, but there’s nothing like a conversation over a glass of white wine and an IPA to take the nerves away. By the end of their drinks, they were relaxed, smiling, and ready to take the session outdoors.
We hopped in my car and drove down to Mill Ruins Park. It was a warm May night and the golden sun had started to dip behind the skyline, making the buildings glow. They sat down in the grass on the park’s steep hill and admired the view of the Stone Arch Bridge.
The snow had recently melted, which made the river full and gushing with water. We walked along the river line for a bit then headed back up to the top of the park by the Stone Arch to catch a bit of the twilight before parting ways.
The temperature will be a bit different for their December wedding at Lowertown Event Center Wedding in December. They are both hoping for a fresh coat of white snow!
Downtown Minneapolis is one of my favorite places for an engagement session! Here’s one from the Guthrie and Mill Ruins Park from earlier this year.
Check out Erin and David’s wedding from the same area!
