Lowertown Event Center / Meghan + Scott
Meghan and Scott have been together for over nine years. After meeting through friends at school, they bonded over their mutual love of hockey and now are both working towards becoming doctors. Over the years, they have lived in different states, but they made it work. They decided made it official memorial day weekend with their wedding at the Lowertown Event Center.
It was unusually hot for this May weekend, but both Meghan and Scott kept cool in the Lowertown Event Center as they got ready. Once Scott was dressed, he waited for Meghan at Mears Park, just across the street. After saying hello to her dad, Meghan made her way up to greet Scott. Both of their jaws dropped at first sight, then they laughed and held each other tight. There’s an electric energy between them – their eyes literally light up when they look at each other.
After some photos together, the wedding party and family joined us outside. We worked quickly since three piece suits and the hot blaring sun don’t mix well. Once we were finished, everyone made their way back inside to rest and cool down before the ceremony.
Meghan and Scottwrote their own vows. They shared why they loved each other, but each of them talked about why the other lifts them up and makes them a better human. They had a knot tying ceremony, exchanged rings, then went in for their first married kiss before heading back down the aisle.
Their guests were escorted into the next room for social hour. Meghan and Scott joined them shorty after for a beer and conversation. Everyone was seated for dinner, and a blessing was done by one of their uncles.
Toasts continued after dinner from both of the dad’s as well as Meghan’s sister and Scott’s brother. Each speech told silly stories from the past, but also shared how great the happy couple is for one another. Dancing started shortly after the toasts and continued long after I left.
Meghan and Scott- The way you look at each other says it all! It was so fun getting to know you both and being apart of your wedding day, and I’m so excited that I get to see you both again this fall at Nicole and Mark’s wedding!
