Jimmy’s Event Center Wedding / Sam + Mike
Sam and Mike met while working at Sun Country Air Lines. Mike thought she was cute, so after some encouragement from his friends, he asked her out on a date. They went to dinner then out for a drink where Mike’s brother and close friends joined them. As Mike’s brother recalled during his wedding toast, they knew Sam was the one for Mike right then and there because she had the wit and smarts to hold her own. They were so right! Their Jimmy’s Event Center wedding in Vadnais Heights was the perfect place for their family and friends to gather to celebrate their marriage.
The day started in two separate spots- Sam at her mom’s house while Mike and his groomsmen took over their home. I stopped over and hung out with their ladies who were relaxed and chilling in the kitchen enjoying snacks. After Sam put on her dress, I headed over to Mike’s and Sam’s home where the groomsmen were getting dressed. Mike was a touch more nervous then Sam, but after a beer and suiting up, was ready to meet Sam and one of their favorite spots- the Como Lakeside Pavillion.
The fall colors were in full swing and the sun was shining down on the waterfall where Sam and Mike met eyes for the first time on their wedding day. Their family and wedding party joined them shortly after before the whole groom headed out to Jimmy’s Event Center for the wedding ceremony.
It was cool on this October day, so they held their ceremony inside. Their families and friend’s arrived and were able to sign their home plate guest book as well as socialize with appetizers and drinks before the ceremony started. Once everyone took their seats, Mike and his parents made their way down the aisle followed by Sam and her mother. After some beautiful words and exchanging rings, Sam and Mike shared their fist kiss as husband and wife before walking back down the aisle and out to the door to the gazeboo to celebrate. Their families greated them out there and took the time to get a few big group photos before going back in for dinner.
The toasts during this wedding were on point. Sam’s mother shared words on behalf of her father who was watching from above, her sisters did a song and dance with feathers, and all the uncles on one side sang a traditional wedding song for good luck.
The dance floor opened with Sam and Mike’s first dance followed by Mike and his mother. After that, the floor was fair game and everyone gathered to dance the night away.
Sam and Mike- you two were so fun to work with! Your humor, compassion, and love for Disney are just a few of the many great things that make you two so perfect for each other. I wish you the happiest of days together, thanks for having me!
