Downtown Wayzata Engagement Session / Annie + Tyler
Annie and Tyler met thanks to mutual friends. For their engagement session, we returned to Downtown Wayzata where they had one of their first dates, then the waters of Lake Sarah where Tyler told Annie he loved her for the first time.
The first time these two met, it was at a party. Sparks flew, and Tyler mustered up the courage to ask Annie out. He took her to downtown Wayzata for the first date. They started at a restaurant named COV where they enjoyed wine and dinner, then they strolled down the boardwalk enjoying the views of the boats on the water.
We met at COV with the idea of them sitting at the bar, having a drink, but it was a gorgeous Friday night and the place was popping. With people in every direction, they opted to skip the table and instead to walk down the dock to the water. When things calmed down, we did take a few photos outside of the restaurant.
Next stop was to Tyler’s best friend’s parents’ home off Lake Sarah. Tyler is like another son to them, and their families spent many summers hanging out with one another. The first time Tyler told Annie he loved her was in the water of Lake Sarah, so we ventured out on their pontoon boat, with an adorable pup co-captain, to the middle of the lake.
It had been cloudy up until this point, and it was going to rain, but for a few moments the orange sun dropped between two clouds for some beautiful photos. After the sun set, we cruised around the lake for a twilight boat right where Annie and Tyler reminisced about the good times.
I encourage my couples to pick a place for their engagement session that means something to their relationship. Courtney and Brian also recreated one of their first dates.
