Bemidji Minnesota Wedding / Sarah + Andrew / 9.22.17
Sarah and Andrew met through friends at a house party nine years ago. What started with a quick hello turned into in all night long conversation that would be the first of many. They exchanged numbers at the end of the party and shortly after, started dating. They are both laid back and love spending time oudoors, especially in the fall, so they chose a late September wedding which four hours north of the cities in Bemidji, Minesota, means the start of the fall colors. Todavich Farms hosts local weddings and events and was the perfect serene backdrop to their Bemidji, Minnesota Wedding.
The drive to their venue was rainy. The big grey clouds in the sky were moving slow and sprinkling little drops of rain onto anything below them. Everyone was checking the radar since the ceremony was scheduled to be outside. Luckily, the rain was on the way out and the whole day ended up being dry.
Sarah and her bridal party dressed in a back room next to their reception space at Todavich Farms. Everyone was relaxed but so excited that after dating for nine years, Sarah and Andrew were finally making it official! Sarah was as cool as a cucumber and dressed thanks to help of her friends and family before walking outside to the lake to meet Andrew for their first look.
A first look refers to the first time the bride and groom see each other on their wedding day. Sarah tapped Andrew’s shoulder to turn around, and when he laid eyes on her for the first time, he couldn’t help but just squeeze her in and hold her tight. After some photos with their dog Zoey, families, and wedding party, the couple hid away for some private time before their ceremony.
Their guests arrived and headed to the other side of the lake for the outdoor ceremony. The rain had held off but the temperature was dropping, so their guests wrapped themselves in blankets to stay warm. Sarah and Andrew exchanged rings, poured sand, and gave their parents roses before sealing the deal with a kiss and making their way back down the aisle to start the reception.
Inside Todavich Farms reception space were long tables adorned with candles, pearls, and flowers. There was a snack bar with five different types of pop corn to keep the kids busy while dinner was being prepared. After the main meal was served, the best man and maid of honor gave their toasts and everyone raised a glass to the happy couple.
Sarah and Andrew kicked off the dance floor with the shoe game and a few special dances before the rest of the guests joined them on the dance floor. Before the end of the night, we were able to sneak out to get some fresh air and some incredible night photos by moonlight which ended up being some of my favorites from their day.
To Sarah and Andrew – thank you for having me at your beautiful farm wedding in Bemidji, Minnesota! It was so great getting to know you both and your friends and families!
