How to Keep Your Sh*t Together on Your Wedding Day
As your wedding day approaches, you will have to finalize a lot of details. As annoying as it may seem, organization plays a big role in your wedding day. As a Minneapolis wedding photographer that’s been in the industry for almost a decade, here are some tips for you soon-to-be-married couples on how to keep your sh*t together on your wedding day.
1- Ask your wedding photographer or planner to help you create a timeline.
Your family and wedding party will be easier to manage if they know where to be and what time to show up for photos. Talk to your photographer or planner so you can send your family and wedding party the timeline before the big day. This will prevent you from being bombarded with questions.
2- Have a backup plan for bad weather. If you plan to get married or do photos outdoors, a backup plan will take stress away from your wedding day. Choose a venue that has an indoor option not only for your ceremony, but photos as well.
3- Go with the flow. If something has to change the day of, take a deep breath and roll with it. It’s your one and only wedding day, so you may as well enjoy every second of it. Have fun, enjoy the ride, and let the unpredictable moments make great stories to pass on for generations.
As a wedding photographer, I help my clients lay out their timeline and shot list so the day runs as smoothly as possible on the photo front. If your photographer doesn’t offer this service, hiring a day-of coordinator to help is a great investment.
Plan as much as you can beforehand so you can savor each moment. Your wedding is truly once in a lifetime; you deserve to enjoy it!
