The Ultimate Guide for Down-to-earth Couples to Feeling Comfortable in front of the Camera
Hooray! You are engaged, planning a wedding, and there is a lot to be excited for! But when you think of your engagement or wedding day shoot- do you feel nervous? Is your fiancé dreading your future photo session? Here are a few things you can do so that you feel camera ready and actually enjoy getting your photo taken!
1.Be yourself! It seems too easy- but really, just be you! The best photos come from when you are comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Take a deep breath, and know that you being you what will make the BEST pictures.
2.Relax! I always tell my clients to pretend the camera is not there so that you can have fun during your portraits! It is natural to be a little tense or feel uncomfortable. How many times have you had professional photos taken? Most likely, not too many, so talk with your fiancé. Laugh, smile, tell each other secrets. The more relaxed you are, the better your photos will turn out!
3.Don’t be afraid to move. Great photos come from natural movement. So feel free to walk, grab hands, hug, and jump!
4.Trust your photographer. If you hired a professional, then their job is to know how to make couples look good. They will give you direction when necessary so that you look your best without forcing emotion.
I hope you enjoy your upcoming photo session! Photography does not have to be painful- in fact, it should be a lot of fun! My favorite moment of each session is when my clients express how much they enjoyed getting their photos taken. I love making down-to-earth couples feel comfortable so that their session is not only a great experience, but they get photos that express the natural, beautiful emotions that make life worth living.
