Nicollet Island Inn Winter Wedding

Sarah and Andy met on Craigslist. Before your mind wheels start turning to all sorts of places, Craigslist as in the way that Sarah found a roommate thanks to this site who Andy was friends with. Their friendship evolved and they are now dog parents to their pup Kima and love to take her on road trips. Andy proposed at Niagara Falls where Sarah jokingly recounts how she thought he was going to push her in since they were standing so close to the edge. They had their family gather at Nicollet Island Inn for their winter wedding this past January.

Before the ceremony was scheduled to start, Sarah and Andy braved the cold and snow for a few outdoor photos. The temperature was just above zero, so in Minnesota, it wasn’t “that bad.” We took a few photos outside before feeling frozen, then made our way back inside.

They kept their wedding to immediate family. Sarah and Andy didn’t want the big party, but rather those they loved to witness their union. Sarah and her father waited on the other side of the curtain while Andy played “Here Comes the Bride” on the keyboard app on his phone.

Sarah’s father led her into the room where Andy took her hand and held it tight. Andy honored his father by wearing his pocket square, and Sarah wore the wooden ring Andy made her many years ago. They shared their vows, exchanged their rings, and kissed officially as husband and wife.

After signing the marriage certificate, they headed into the piano room to sip champagne and celebrate. Family members shared words and toasted while their room was reset for a special dinner.

As their family made their way back into the room, Sarah and Andy headed outside for a few final shots with the Minneapolis skyline lit up in the background.

Sarah and Andy- thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful ceremony and portraits! It was a pleasure reconnecting with your family, and you two are so meant to be. Wishing you nothing but the happiest of years together!
