Minnehaha Falls Park Engagement Session / Amanda and Jesse
Minnehaha Falls Park is one of my favorite places for a fall engagement session. Besides it’s epic waterfall, this parks has colorful flower gardens surrounded by orange leafed maples that take on tones of red this time of year. Amanda and Jesse met nine years ago and were engaged about a year ago in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The day Jesse proposed, he told Amanda they were going out for breakfast. After their meal, he walked her down to the beach, put a knee in the sand and took out the ring. They had someone capture it from afar, and the picture perfectly shows how surprised Amanda really was. She of course said yes, and the two have planned to keep it to the beach, this time in Florida for their October wedding. They still wanted to bring a bit of Minnesota into their wedding day which is why they chose a Minnnehaha Falls Park engagement session.
We met on a Sunday night, during the golden hour. The setting sun illuminated the trees with bright edges and made the yellow and orange fall leaves glow. It was warm for the end of October so the park was busy with people walking, biking, and sitting at Sea Salt enjoying the last bit of fall weather.
It had been rainy for fall, so the waterfall was gushing and the water was high. As we approached it, we could feel a cool mist. After a few photos, we made our way around the park stopping to admire the fall colors. We chased the light all the way to Longfellow gardens before it disappeared behind the horizon line.
I love a good Minneahaha Falls Park engagement session. I have a few more listed below if you are enjoying this park as much as I do.
