Lowertown St. Paul Engagement Session / Kendra + Ryan
March 25, 2018
Kendra and Ryan met 12 years ago at a friends holiday party. They were introduced through mutual friends, but Kendra was in a relationship, so it was purely platonic. They crossed paths months later at a birthday party, but things were a bit different for Kendra- she was now available, and sparks started to fly. They wanted their love story to be told by the things they love so we wrapped a few of their favorite activities into their Lowertown St. Paul engagement session.
First stop for their Lowertown St. Paul engagement session was Tin Whiskers Brewery. They love breweries and are huge into baseball, so they wore their autographed St. Paul Saints jerseys and sipped down a beer. CHS field holds a special place to them since they lived near Lowertown and watched the stadium being built. They now use their season tickets as an excuse to have a dedicated date night on the field.
Second stop on their Lowertown engagement session was Union Depot. I hadn’t been in this place in years, and it is so beautiful. The old architecture paired with prideful artwork of St. Paul makes a great backdrop for anyone who adores this city. I’m glad Kendra and Ryan were so familiar with the area, they were able to guide us through the skyway to our final stop, Mears Park.
The sun peeped between the buildings, casting golden beams down into the park. It was the day before the winter carnival so Mears Park was busy with people treasure hunting for the coin. We walked through the park and ended up at their wedding reception venue, 413 on Wacota, before wrapping it up. We will be back, Lowertown, but this time for the real deal – Kendra and Ryan’s wedding is fall 2018, and I’m so excited to hang out with them again!
I’m more of a Minneapolis girl myself, but St. Paul is always growing on me. Here are a few more sessions from this side of the river.
