Happy Birthday Blog!

Happy Birthday to my blog!  Although I’ve been around as a photographer for much longer, about one year ago I started writing personal blogs once a week so people could get to know the person behind the curtain, I mean camera.

At fist, this felt very forced.  I don’t like putting myself out there because it is SCARY.  What are people going to think?Why would anyone care to read about my boring life?  These questions and more race into my mind every time I’m about to hit the green publish button.

Even though this was unnatural at first, this past year so much has changed for my business and my life because of these personal posts.  Clients reach out to me asking me how Zelda is, clients have gifted me some really awesome unicorn gear, acquaintances have come up to me when I’m out and about saying thank you because they have been where I am and they appreciate the honesty of my more serious posts.

Overall, I would call this a success, even if my mom is the only one that religiously reads this blog each and every week.

SO THANK YOU!  Thanks for reading!  I hope over the next couple years, we can keep inspiring each other through sharing who we are and the challenges we face because I really feel that is the power of social media and the internet. Knowing that you are not the only one out there that faces hardships, knowing that there are others who have been through what you are going through, or just sometimes being able to laugh and share the lighter things of life.
