Gale Mansion Minneapolis Fall Wedding / Lauren + Colten
Lauren and Colten met on an unintentional blind double date. Both Lauren and Colten were dropping a friend off at Applebee’s to meet the other. Each of their friends convinced Lauren and Colten to come in and join them, and the rest is history. They invited their friends and family to gather together at the Gale Mansion for their fall wedding last October.
Lauren and Colten are laid back and wanted their wedding to feel the same way. They opted to not have a wedding party, and instead surround themselves with only their family as the day started.
The Gale Mansion has a beautiful bridal suite where Lauren had her family hang out while she finished her hair and makeup. They helped her into her dress just as Colten arrived.
Lauren did a first look with her dad, but waited to see Colten until she walked down the aisle. His jaw literally dropped as he saw his soon-to-be beautiful wife come towards him. They wrote their own vows but kept the rest of the ceremony simple and to the point.
After the ceremony, they took a moment for just the two of them. The Gale Mansion has that old school architecture where you can sneak off and find yourself in a nook or a cranny where no one can find you.
They joined their guests for the end of social hour to cut their cake and lead the way down to dinner.
Lauren’s father kicked off the reception with a sweet toast, followed by Colten’s sister and father. His family had recently lost a brother, so their toasts were heartfelt and meant to honor him being there in spirit.
Once dinner was cleared and cake was served, Lauren and Colten did their first dance as husband and wife. The rest of their friends and family eventually made their way onto the floor to groove the night away.
Right before our time together was done, we went upstairs to do a “last look” in the mansion. It had started to sprinkle, so we, of course, went outside for one romantic kiss in the rain.
Lauren and Colten- you both are beyond sweet. I love how you stayed true to yourselves and made your wedding day laid back but also so fun. You both are so lucky to have each other, but also the people you surround yourselves with. Your wedding day was filled with all the good stuff weddings are made of, and it was a true honor being a part of it. So much love to you both. I hope we cross paths again soon!
A very special thanks to these vendors, especially their venue, The Gale Mansion, which always hosts an incredible experience from start to finish.
