Boom Island Engagement Session / Tiff and Brendan
Tiff and Brendan have been together for over nine years! They met through mutual friends while attending school at the University of Minnesota and were just friends for many years, but overtime, their friendship developed into a romance. They love all things outdoors, live music, traveling, cooking, playing backgammon, and tacos, especially from Maya— these are my kind of people. They live together in NE Minneapolis with their sweet Irish Terrier, Rubie, who they wanted to included in their Boom Island Park engagement session.
We met at the parking lot by the playground. The gold and red leaves were saturated with sunlight, it really was the perfect October evening. Rubie’s curly brown tail waved side to side as we explored the park. We walked to the bike path where the fall colors were in full force, then back down the bridge to the center of the park as the setting sun turned the grass gold. Once the sun disappeared behind the skyline, we headed to the Stone Arch Bridge for one last shot with the city lights.
Engagement sessions are the best way to get to know each other. Tiff and Brendan were sent my way by Brendan’s sister, Anna. I was lucky enough to capture her wedding last year in my old stomping grounds, Madison. I met Tiff and Brendan there, but it was great to spend some quality time getting to know these two, and of course, Rubie. I am so elated to be also photographing their wedding next year. Cannot wait!
Tiff and Brendan weren’t alone in choosing the best month for their Boom Island engagement session. October in Minneapolis is truly magical with the changing leaves and cooler weather, who doesn’t love bundling up in a cozy sweater. Here are a few more of my fall sessions (the first one has a puppy in it, just saying) as well as a link to Brendan’s sister’s (the lovely Anna) wedding.
