Centennial Lakes Wedding / 9.16.17 / Meagan and Trevor
Meagan and Trevor met in adoption camp when they were little kids. Meagan originally hails for India and Trevor from Korea. As adults, they reconnected on social media, and as Meagan says, “that’s when the true romance began and we fell in love.” They both are dog lovers at heart and have two of the sweetest white fluff balls you will ever meet- Otis and Maya, who were the ring bearer and flower girl at their Centennial Lakes Wedding! If you like dogs in tuxedos and flower crowns, read on and then scroll down for photos.
The bridal party started in two separate places- the bridesmaids at Meagan and Trevor’s apartment and the groomsmen at Trevor’s childhood home in Edina, Minnesota. Meagan not only dressed herself, but Otis in an adorable velcro tuxedo and Maya in a pink flower crown. Trevor and his friends took their time getting dressed then headed to the Maetzold Ampietheater for the ceremony.
Dogs were welcome to the ceremony and reception. Meagan’s mom walked down the aisle with her elegant poodle, and Meagan’s maid of honor carried Maya. Meagan walked down with Otis then handed him off to her mom for the remainder of the ceremony. Their guests shared readings and prayers, and after the vows were read and the rings exchanged, two of their friends performed a heavenly rendition of “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” Meagan and Trevor had their first official married kiss, and just like that, the happy couple made their way back down the aisle to greet their guests.
After some hugs and family love, the wedding party and the pups took a walk while their guests made their way the Hughes Pavillon for lunch. Meagan and Trevor LOVE photos, so we took a long walk around the park. The sun was shining and it was simply sublime for September. The trail around Centennial Lakes eventually lead us back to the pavilion where Meagan and Trevor greeted their guests again.
The reception hall was decorated with bright pinks, reds, and each table had their own personal cake to cut and maybe share. They wanted elements from both their original cultures to shine through, and the menu did just that with sushi and samosas. Family and friends shared toasts, everyone moved around and socialized, and finally it came time for this Sunday afternoon wedding to end.
The light was getting low and golden, so we were able to sneak Meagan and Trevor out for just a few more photos before they went back to their apartment, husband and wife, to continue the party with close friends and family.
Meagan and Trevor- you both have hearts of gold! I am so grateful to have been apart of your wedding day! I love Otis and Maya- if you ever need a dog sitter…. I would love to snuggle with those two for a few nights! I know the four of you will be so happy together!
Can’t get enough of Meagan, Trevor, Otis and Maya? Me neither! They participated in the Fur is My Family Project this spring, and here’s the link the that session if you want to see more!
