Stephanie and Chris’s Engagement – 10/7/16 – William O’Brien State Park
Three of my favorite things happened on this day- a beautiful hike through a state park, meeting super cute dogs, and an engagement session. Stephanie and Chris wanted pure nature as their backdrop. No buildings, no structures, just golden fall leaves. After some investigation, they suggested William O’Brien State Park. I had never been, and let me tell you, it is absolutely gorgeous! It’s only an hour away from the city, so I plan on going back next year for some camping.
We met about an hour before sunset. It was cold, about 36 degrees, so in between starting locations, everyone heated up in their cars. They brought their two beautiful dogs who had a blast running through the long stocks of grass in the prairie. Their dogs have become very close during their relationship and seemed to be jumping for joy at the session to celebrate their humans’ upcoming wedding in June.
After some photos with the pups, we made out way down to a spot by the lake. It was too cloudy for a sunset, but it didn’t matter. The water was calm, the air was crisp, and these two were able to hold each other tight and look amazing in their pictures.
I’m so excited to photograph Stephanie and Chris again, they were so easy going, and I’m sure June will be much warmer!
