Westin Edina Galleria Wedding / Jane + Tyler
Jane and Tyler met their senior year of college in Duluth. They both were in the business school program and crossed paths frequently enough to get to know each other and eventually started dating. After graduating, they both moved back to the Minneapolis area and were engaged just before their three year anniversary. They celebrated their wedding this past May with a ceremony at All Saints Catholic Church and a reception at the The Westin Edina Galleria surrounded by their closest family and friends.
It was a cool spring day and the sky was dark, but no rain was in the forecast. Jane got into her dress and waited for Tyler to arrive at the church. Tyler stood outside by the arched doors, and Jane greeted him with a hug and a sweet kiss. We walked around the church and took some photos under the flowering magnolia trees. Their wedding party joined us outside for a few more photos, and soon guests began to arrive at for the ceremony.
Their guests greeted each other with hugs and handshakes. Many of them were family and hadn’t seen each other in too long. They made their way to their seats once the music began to watch the wedding party and family come down the aisle. Jane’s dad walked her down and handed her off to Tyler. They had family do a few readings before exchanging vows and rings. After a kiss, Jane and Tyler walked back down the aisle husband and wife and took a moment to celebrate alone outside.A limo pulled up and the wedding party hopped in. First stop was for a post ceremony snack at the always delicious Raising Canes for some fried goodness.
It was late afternoon, yet the place was packed. The line was short to order, but the tables were full of people, talking loud in-between bites of fried chicken and biscuits.⠀They were able to push a few tables together, and one by one, the wedding party made their way to their oblong table in the center of the room. First, the bride and groom who shared chicken fingers dipped in a sweet, yellow sauce. Their nieces and nephews came next, clapping their hands together with big bright eyes before receiving buttery pieces of garlic bread. ⠀
Everyone enjoyed their food and headed to Centennial Lakes Park for a few more photos. The Lilacs were in full bloom and the park smelled heavenly. It was also the same weekend as homecoming, so everyone and their mom (literally) was taking photos at the park.
The wedding party joined the social hour at the Westin Edina Gallery. Guests mingled over glasses of champagne, cheeses and fruit. Once it was time for dinner, everyone made their way into the reception room for a locally caught walleye dinner and conversation. Both dad’s shared words about Jane and Tyler as kids. Jane’s sister, the maid of honor, and Tyler’s best man shared stories of their good times, and our time ended together as dessert was served.
Jane and Tyler- thank you so much for having me at your wedding! You two were so laid back, so go with the flow, a photographer’s dream. I wish you both the best as you settle into your new home! Give Curry a squeeze for me!
