Hotel Landing Wayzata Wedding / Devon and Breck

Devon and Breck met thanks to mutual friends at a bar in Breckenridge, Colorado. Their connection was instant, and they have spent the last four in a half years adventuring the world together and apart as they pursue their careers. They were married in Devon’s parent’s back yard then took the party down the road to the Hotel Landing in Wayzata for their wedding reception.

While Breck and his groomsmen played pool at a neighbor’s house, Devon and her bridesmaids hung out in her parent’s kitchen.  Devon slipped in to her elegant backless dress upstairs, then came back down for a quick hug before meeting Breck out back.

The weather had been spotty.  It had just rained, but the sky started to open up.  We took full advantage after Devon and Breck’s first site and did as many outdoors photos in the yard as possible.  It started to sprinkle, to the couple made their way back to dry off before the ceremony.

Family and guests started to arrive by shuttle from Hotel Landing.  They were greeted with a glass of champagne and a short cocktail hour.  The sun had come out in full force, and the chairs were now dry so everyone could sit and enjoy the ceremony.

Devon and Breck’s friend officiated.  She shared the story of how they met since she was one of the mutual friends that introduced them.  The couple exchanged their own vows, which were just beautiful, enough to bring their guests to tears.  They exchanged rings, shared a kiss and a long hug, then walked down the rose petal covered aisle to sign their license and make it really official.

They rejoined their guests outside to sip champagne and enjoy one another’s company.  While the shuttle came back and forth to deliver people to Hotel Landing, Breck and Devon decided to sneak away for a few moments alone on the docks of the lake.

The breeze off the lake was just enough to keep them cool.  The sky had now turned blue and was full of white puffy clouds.  It was picture perfect, and everyone they walked by greeted them with a smile and congratulations.

Everyone regrouped at Hotel Landing for the wedding reception.  Rock with U played the happy couple in where they kicked it off with their first dance.  Devon’s dad made a heartfelt toast, then everyone enjoyed dinner.  The dancing continued again once everyone was finished eating and went well into the wee hours of the night.

Devon and Breck- you both are so amazing!  From our first meeting, I felt nothing but kindness and excitement, and it has been a pleasure getting to know you both and your families!  We had a blast during your wedding day, and your families friends were so fun to be around as well!  Thank you for having us- we know you two are meant to be- seriously picture perfect together!
