Julie and Shannon – 9/24/16 – Edinburgh USA Golf Club
Julie and Shannon love being outdoors and spending time up north. Shannon actually proposed to Julie last year on the hilltop of Enger Park so after they tied the knot, they went back north for a much deserved mini moon. For their wedding day, they decided to keep it closer to the twin cities. They were married at St. Joseph’s in New Hope followed by a family filled reception at Edinburgh USA Golf Club. They are both so chill, so kind, and so easy to work with. Their wedding day just flowed, so relaxed but also so fun!
The day started at Julie’s hotel room. My jaw dropped when I saw her dress on the hanger. It was full of lace, so classy but down to earth, just perfect for her. Shannon eagerly waited as she took the elevator down to the lobby, and in front of the fire place they had their first look at each other. They both looked incredible and savored the moment.
We continued photos at Medicine Lake Park where the fall colors were just starting to show on the other side of the lake. It was cloudy but still warm enough for everyone to feel comfortable. After some time at the park, we met their families at the church for more photos and of course, their ceremony.
It was the first half hour Catholic style mass I have ever been too and I loved it! So did their guests! It had all of the best elements tied in, and they even did a sand pouring. While their guests went to the cocktail hour, the wedding party headed to a bar for a celebratory brew and some pull tabs. They played the box well and someone won a cash prize. There was a lot to celebrate and Shannon’s sister gave a toast and even picked up the tab.
The bridal party arrived at Edinbrugh and marched in to their guests clapping and cheering. After dinner, their loved ones shared a few words, everyone toasted, and Julie and Shannon opened the dance floor with their first dance. It wasn’t long after that the floor was popping and singing along to some good old classics like YMCA. Other guests ventured to the patio where they had a cigar bar and yard games. I was able to pull the happy couple away for one last photo on the staircase.
This was such a great wedding because everyone had fun. From beginning to end, nothing but smiles and laughter, and these two deserve it! Congratulations Julie and Shannon! You two are wonderfully perfect together and thank you so much for letting us be apart of it!
