Janna and Phil – 9/23/16 – Day Block Event Center

Janna and Phil’s wedding was hands down so much fun!  From start to finish, there was always a moment where I was smiling behind my camera. One of my favorite moments happened during their ceremony at Day Block Event Center.  Their officiant described their perfect day together.  It included walk through the woods, streaming or seeing a Widespread Panic show, and if Phil had time, a round of golf.  Sounds like the perfect day to me as well!

Before their ceremony, the gals gathered at Janna’s hotel room for hair and makeup.  A few mimosas were poured as the bridal party put the final touches on their outfits.  The groomsmen got ready at Phil’s place and arrived in style on a bus that sat outside the hotel until it was time for the first look.  Once Janna was all ready, she revealed herself to hear ladies, but also to her father who tried to hold back his tears.

We were able to squeeze in a few outdoors photos before the rain hit.  Janna and Phil’s eyes met for the first time as bride and groom outside the Guthrie.  The held each other tight for a moment before boarding the bus and heading to St. Anthony Main.  We used the bridge for cover, and had fun yelling, “game off and game on!” in between the cars coming into our shots.

Their families waited for us to arrive at Day Block, and I had never seen it look so beautiful.  This place is perfect for the bride and groom who want to bring their own touches in.  It is really a blank canvas, and Janna and Phil made it look so elegant with their lights, details, and flowers.

Their ceremony was just as beautiful and after it was all said and done, the couple kissed, and the party officially started.  After a wonderful dinner by Divine Swine Catering, Frogleg hit the stage to play some special requests for the first dances.  It wasn’t long after that everyone hit the dance floor.  Phil and his niece had a dance-off, and even the parents of the bride and groom got groovy.

People like Janna and Phil share their love and good energy with everyone around.  As I mentioned, there were so many moments where I could not stop smiling and feelings all the feels around me.  It was a blast, and so much so, that I stuck around after to enjoy a few dances.  Thank you Janna and Phil for being so welcoming and wonderful!  I wish you two the best!
