Cafe Lurcat Wedding Reception / Julia + Hassan
Julia and Hassan met through mutual friends. They lived the long distance lifestyle for a while, and when I say long distance, I mean ocean long distance. Once Julia finished college, they were married in Julia’s hometown in Russia. Months later, they decided to move to Minneapolis where Hassan plans to work in the medical field and Julia plans to pursue her graduate studies. Much of Hassan’s family also lives in Minneapolis, so they chose to gather everyone at Cafe Lurcat for their wedding reception.
Julia surprised Hassan on their reception day by wearing traditional Pakistani wedding attire. They had parted ways earlier in the day, and arrived separately at Cafe Lurcat. Hassan waited for Julia in the alley way behind the restaurant. Julia turned the corner and tapped him on the shoulder. Hassan turned around and was stunned. He was not only completely surprised but also impressed she matched his outfit. Hassan’s family was equally as excited.
Their family went inside so we could walk around Loring Park and take some photos. The art fair was clearing out and the sun was bright and warm. The flowers were in full bloom which popped against the vibrant turquoise of their outfits.
Family joined us shortly after for photos, and once everyone had a chance to stand beside the bride and groom, everyone went inside Cafe Lurcat for tall glasses of sparking cider and delicious Hors d’oeuvre.
Friends of the couple arrived shortly after to greet Julia and Hassan and share in the festivities. After an hour of mingling, everyone was called inside for an elegant dinner followed by wedding cake.
Julia and Hassan- It was wonderful getting to know you both, but also your family. Everyone at your reception was beyond kind and I’m so sad I couldn’t stay for dinner. Glad you are both in Minneapolis together, I hope we cross paths again soon!
