Laura and Paul – 5/19/17 – Brackett’s Crossing Wedding
Laura and Paul met on a blind date at Ruby Tuesdays. They had a few drinks and great conversation, a very successful first meeting. When Laura got home, she wanted to text Paul to tell him what a great time she had and hopefully set up their next date, but didn’t want to come off too eager. Her friends thought she should, so after some classic peer pressure, she went for it, and it’s a good thing she did because their wedding at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club was so wonderful!
May is always a toss up for weather in Minnesota. It was dark and looking grim the morning of, but as Laura put her dress and final details on, the sun started to poke it’s way through the clouds and came out just in time for her to walk down the isle with her father at their ceremony. If that isn’t a sign that these two should be married, I don’t know what is.
The entire day was tear felt. Emotion was coming straight from the heart. It started with Laura’s gift to Paul before their first look- a home made book titled “100 Reasons Why I Love You.” Paul read the first couple pages aloud for the videographer before getting choked up. Laura’s reaction to Paul’s photo book gift wasn’t much different. It’s so sweet to see a couple so in love. He also gave her a small bottle of Fireball to calm her nerves, he really did think of everything.
Another reason I think this wedding was packed with so much beautiful emotion was because this was their second time planning a wedding. The original plan was for the two of them to get married in Florida this last winter, but with Zica on the rise and several of Laura’s best friend’s and family members pregnant, they decided to postpone and do the wedding in Minnesota. You could tell everyone at their wedding was so happy to be there and had a true connection not just as family and friends but to Laura and Paul’s relationship.
I’m so happy for these two and so glad they did do their wedding in Minnesota. Like their guests, we laughed when Paul’s dad made all the guys get up and do the cheer that got them kicked out of the game. We smiled and rooted for Laura’s bridesmaids when they performed an impromptu rap about their love for the couple, and to speak for myself, a few tears ran down my cheek when Paul read from Laura’s gift book.
Laura and Paul- I wish you all the happiness in the world- a kind genuine couple like yourself deserves nothing less than that!
